Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Liberia, IOM works in the areas of Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration, Counter Trafficking, Migration Management and Resettlement and Reintegration Assistance.

Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration activities facilitate the orderly and humane return and reintegration of migrants who are unable or unwilling to remain in host countries and wish to return voluntarily to their countries of origin.
Repatriation Assistance for Migrants
- Repatriated 3,205 stranded Liberian nationals from Sahel Region to Liberia.
- Trained 218 repatriated Liberians in basic life skills and entrepreneurship.
- Provided psychosocial support training and awareness raising for stranded Liberians on arrival.
